Close the Gaps in the Florida Trail

Attention all hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers
sign our petition to help complete the Florida Trail

Imagine that you planned a hiking trip to explore one of the scenic trails of florida, and you keep running into dead ends and private properties.

The Florida Trail is a 1300 mile footpath that stretches from the Big Cypress National Preserve in south Florida to Gulf Islands National Seashore in the Floirda Panhandle. A thousand miles have been built. 300 miles of gaps require road walks that are hot, boring and dangerous. We are asking the Governor and the Florida legislature close these gaps and complete a continuous footpath, set aside for posterity.

All National Scenic Trails should guarantee a quality hiking experience with a continuous footpath, and Congress should act to provide it. So Congress should determine how much time and money will be needed, and what government agency should be charged with this task.
